A useful content protection policy begins with the reader’s next step. Should someone complete a form, follow a link, work in an editor or use a code sample? Those interactions should remain part of the publishing plan. AIM Content Protection v1.3.0 is designed to discourage casual copying while keeping these elements usable.

Separate content value from interaction needs

Not every page needs the same treatment. A blog article may be a priority for discouraging casual copying, while another page may have a stronger reason to remain unrestricted. AIM Content Protection lets owners choose which restrictions to enable and exclude individual pages, creating room for that distinction.

A practical editorial workflow is to classify pages before configuring protection. Identify material where a copying deterrent is worthwhile, then identify pages where unrestricted use is more important. These are planning choices, not evidence that any particular visitor is copying content.

Build protection into publication review

  • Record the page’s purpose. State what the reader should be able to do after arriving.
  • Assess the protection need. Decide whether discouraging casual copying supports that purpose.
  • Review exceptions. Exclude individual pages when protection is not appropriate for their intended use.
  • Preview the experience. Use administrator preview to inspect protection alongside the page’s essential interactions.

The plugin covers WordPress pages, blog articles and supported AIM tool areas. Teams should keep that wording in mind: support for AIM tool areas is qualified, not a claim that every possible tool or interface is covered. Review the actual areas you intend to protect rather than assuming universal coverage.

Make expectations clear within the team

Browser-based protection has firm limits. AIM Content Protection cannot prevent screenshots, source extraction or copying when JavaScript is disabled. Editorial and marketing teams should describe it internally as a casual-copying deterrent, not as a complete barrier to reuse.

If a site’s main concern is straightforward copying by visitors who encounter the enabled restrictions, the tool may provide useful friction. If the concern is determined extraction, the stated limitations mean this plugin alone cannot meet that objective. Neither outcome should be presented as measured without separate evidence.

Confirm the practical prerequisites

Adoption requires WordPress 7.0+, PHP 7.4+, HTTPS, PHP Sodium and an active AIM membership that includes the tool. Startup and Professional are the listed plans. A connected AIM account is used for licence verification and updates.

AIM Content Protection works independently of the AIM theme and AI Marketing Engine. For eligible publishing teams, that makes it a focused option: introduce a selective copying deterrent, preserve necessary interactions and review exceptions as the content collection develops.
